Training is an essential element of an effective Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system. All those that work in HSE critical activities should be properly trained and competent for the activities undertaken.

A sufficient number of people should be appointed and trained to carry out and supervise procedures and operations. Staff that have not acquired the necessary experience or competency requirement for their role should not go on duty without close supervision.

It is the responsibility of management to make sure that all staff involved in Gas operations clearly understand the characteristics of Gas and its associated risks. Staff should be regularly trained and assessed in the knowledge and practice of normal operations, including as appropriate:

  • Company safety policy, drugs and alcohol policy
  • LPG & Natural Gas product knowledge
  • Safety in day to day operations
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • First aid
  • Loading/unloading
  • Emergency procedures and shut-down
  • Fire-fighting
  • Inspection and maintenance
Pune Gas carries out periodic and effective training, which is continuous, with a rolling schedule of refresher courses and where appropriate at least an annual emergency procedure practice.
