Resorts
Mango Hill Resort operates a high-demand 1,600 sq. ft. commercial kitchen in Ooty, where cold weather conditions and high LPG consumption were causing frequent cylinder freezing and residual LPG.
The kitchen was earlier dependent on 19 kg VOT LPG cylinders, requiring approximately 130 cylinders for its LPG requirement. Pune Gas implemented the LPGenius System with Dry Type Vaporizer, transitioning the kitchen to 47.5 kg LOT LPG cylinders.
The intervention was designed to improve LPG utilisation, reduce cylinder handling, address freezing challenges, and strengthen operational consistency for the hospitality kitchen.
Mango Hill Resort is a hospitality property where kitchen uptime, energy reliability, and cost control are critical to consistent guest service. Its 1,600 sq. ft. kitchen operates in Ooty’s cold climatic conditions, with high LPG consumption creating additional demands on the fuel infrastructure.

Operating on 19 kg VOT cylinders resulted in:
The resort was using 130 × 19 kg cylinders, representing approximately 2,470 kg of LPG.
At an estimated residual of 2.5 kg per cylinder, approximately 325 kg of LPG could remain unused. This is equivalent to nearly 17 full 19 kg cylinders and represents approximately ₹53,500 in potential LPG value.
Pune Gas deployed the LPGenius System with Dry Type Vaporizer, supported by 47.5 kg LOT LPG cylinders, engineered for high-usage hospitality kitchens.
The solution delivered:
The resort’s 2,470 kg LPG requirement can be supplied through approximately 52 × 47.5 kg LOT cylinders, compared with 130 × 19 kg VOT cylinders.
LPG Utilisation Improvement:
The LOT based LPGenius System helps overcome the vaporisation limitations associated with conventional VOT cylinders, improving access to usable LPG.
Cylinder Handling Efficiency:
The equivalent LPG requirement reduces from 130 VOT cylinders to approximately 52 LOT cylinders, representing a 60% reduction in cylinder requirement.
Potential Fuel Value:
Approximately 325 kg of residual LPG represents around ₹53,500 in potential LPG value based on the stated cylinder pricing.
Potential Annual Cost Impact:
Assuming the stated 130-cylinder requirement is monthly, the potential annualised value of residual LPG is approximately ₹6.42 Lakhs/year.
Operational Continuity:
LPGenius with Dry Type Vaporizer provides a more suitable LPG system for high consumption kitchen operations in cold climatic conditions.
The project was executed through structured coordination between the Pune Gas technical team and the resort’s operations team. Installation and commissioning of the LPGenius System with Dry Type Vaporizer, supported by 47.5 kg LOT cylinders, was completed along with the LPG pipeline infrastructure for the 1,600 sq. ft. commercial kitchen.
The system was implemented considering the property’s high LPG consumption and Ooty’s cold climatic conditions, with the objective of improving fuel utilisation and operational reliability.
By implementing the LPGenius System with Dry Type Vaporizer, Mango Hill Resort strengthened its kitchen infrastructure with a more suitable LPG solution for high consumption operations in a cold climate.
The transition from 19 kg VOT to 47.5 kg LOT cylinders reduces the equivalent cylinder requirement from 130 to approximately 52, representing a 60% reduction in cylinder requirement.
With approximately 325 kg of potential residual LPG representing ~₹53,500 in potential LPG value, the earlier setup also presented a potential annualised cost impact of approximately ₹6.42 Lakhs, assuming the stated cylinder requirement is monthly.
The project demonstrates how LPGenius can improve fuel utilisation, reduce cylinder handling, address freezing challenges, and strengthen operational reliability for demanding hospitality kitchens.
